Do I have to pay all together, in one lump sum or monthly instalments?
Healthcare Training Solutions accepts agreed weekly / monthly instalments prior to the beginning of your course, once you let us know through contacting us.
How do I enrol and pay for a course?
Simply go to our website, click on the course you want and register through our booking system. You can also pay fully through this system if you wish. If you would like to pay by cash or cheque, please contact our office. It is common for people to pay half the course on day one and the rest before completion of the course.
I have a FETAC qualification, is this the same as QQI?
FETAC qualifications can only be counted as a major award for 5 years. After this you must qualify through QQI. To achieve a full major award now (even if you have some modules completed through FETAC), you will need to complete these again through QQI as they are now out of date. Minor Awards completed under the FETAC system can no longer be carried forward. If you’ve completed your full Major Award through FETAC however, this is still valid.

What qualifications do I need to have to work in a Nursing home setting/ home care setting/ hospital etc.?
You will need a minimum of a QQI Level 5 award in Healthcare to work in home care and majority of nursing homes.
Are there many jobs in the healthcare sector after completing a QQI with HCTS?
Healthcare is one of the best places to find work, especially as a care assistant. We also have links to home care companies, as well as nursing homes that we can recommend for you depending on where you live.
I am a mature student and would like to complete my Healthcare course with HCTS. Where can I go after this to apply for nursing or a pre-nursing qualification?

Do I have to complete all 8 modules?
Yes you must complete all 8 modules to receive your full Level 5 certificate.
Can I register for only one module?
Yes, you can register for just one or more modules with us, as some people have modules already completed elsewhere.
How long does my patient handling etc etc valid for?
Patient, Moving and Handling certificate is for 2 years but this can depend on your place of work, some places may require this annually. For Manual Handling, this certificate lasts for 3 years usually, but again this depends on the policies of where you are working.
Can I get a replacement cert?
If you have lost your cert you can apply for a replacement through QQI which we can assist you with.

Are my qualifications recognised abroad?
QQI qualifications are accepted in most countries and is internationally recognised, however you will need to check this with the particular country you wish to travel to.
