The purpose of this major award QQI 5M4339 is to enable the learner to acquire the knowledge, skill, and competence to work under supervision in providing support in a variety of Healthcare settings and or to progress to further and or higher education and training
How is it delivered ?
- Online Learning with flexible part-time study from your own home. Dates and times af each award will be clearly advertised monthly on our website
What QQI award do I receive ?
- On successful completion of this 8 awards you will gain a QQI Level 5 Major Award in Healthcare Support – 5M4339.
- You will achieve a component certificate for individual award completed
On completion when will I receive my QQI certificate ?
On completion of your course, you are given 3 weeks to complete and submit your portfolio. Following this, the following internal processes will occur:
- Your portfolio will be received and corrected by your tutor.
- Your portfolio will then be internally verified by Healthcare Training Solutions College of Further Education’s Quality Assurance Team.
- Your portfolio will be cross moderated by Healthcare Training Solutions College of Further Education’s Quality Assurance Team.
- Your portfolio will then be externally authenticated by a QQI registered authenticator.
On completion of these processes, we will submit your results to QQI for certification. You will receive a Provisional Result from your tutor in the meantime.
Please be aware that there are only a select few certification periods every year, as per the schedule set out by QQI, meaning it may take up to 5 months to receive your certificate following the submission of your portfolio.

How long is the Healthcare Course ?
- Learners can learn at their own pace - enroling and completing each award when suitable to their needs and lifestyle. HCTS expects 100% attendance in each award
Can I apply for Garda Vetting ?
- Garda Vetting is also provided at no extra cost
Do I need an Irish PPSN ?
- To gain a QQI Certificate Learners must hold an Irish PPS number
Can I pay with Instalments ?
We offer a Flexi payment option on our website.
- To utilise our Flexi payment option offering four interest-free payments of €50 over four months, Learners can follow a simple process.
- Upon booking a module/award the first payment of €50 is deducted immediately. Subsequently, for the next three months, an additional €50 payment will be automatically withdrawn, allowing users to spread their payments evenly.
- This option provides financial flexibility, making it convenient for Learners to manage their expenses without incurring any interest charges. Work Placement Requirements
If you are not currently working in healthcare you will be required to complete Work Placement in a Healthcare Facility. Work Experience requirement is a minimum 80 hours and a maximum of up 160 hours. Work Placement must be sourced by you.

Required documentation will be available to you for download with all other course materials 3 days prior to your course commencing.
