Extension Policy for Online Assignment Submission
This policy establishes clear and consistent rules for requesting, approving, and managing extensions for online assignment submissions. It ensures fairness, academic integrity, and accountability among all Learners.

All assignments must be submitted by the published deadline.

Extensions are granted only under exceptional, documented circumstances.

Last-minute requests (within 12 hours of the deadline) are not accepted unless due to verified emergencies.
Eligibility for Extension Requests
Students may apply for an extension only in the following cases:

Medical reasons (supported by a valid medical certificate).

Family or personal emergencies (e.g., bereavement, serious illness of a dependent).

Other exceptional circumstances approved by Healthcare Training Solutions College of Further Education
Not acceptable reasons include:

Poor time management

Internet access issues

Work commitments or travel

Overlapping deadlines or personal plans
Request Procedure
Submission of Request

Requests must be submitted at least 48 hours before the deadline through the official extension request form.

Emergency cases (medical, personal) may be submitted within 24 hours after the deadline with evidence.
Required Documentation

Medical certificate or official letter (for health/personal emergencies)

Any other supporting evidence deemed valid by the admin
Approval Authority

HCTS Admin may approve extensions of up to 3 days.

Extensions beyond 3 days require approval from the Director of Healthcare Training Solutions College of Further Education.
Communication of Decisions

Learners will be notified of the outcome within 24 hours of submission of their request, whenever possible.

Approved extensions will include a new submission date.
